Assistant Trial Attorney and Trial Attorney
The Thirteenth Judicial District Attorney’s Office is seeking both entry level and experienced trial attorneys. Positions are available in Sandoval, Valencia and Cibola Counties. Enjoy the convenience of working near a metropolitan area while gaining valuable trial experience in a smaller office, providing the opportunity to advance more quickly than is afforded in larger offices. Salary commensurate with experience.​

Contract Investigator
We are seeking a part-time (20 - 25 hours a week) investigator funded by a Federal Grant and will exist as long as the funds are available. This position provides investigative functions as required in partnership with the District Attorney's Office and the Federal Office of the Inspector General. Duties will include but are not limited to locating witnesses, serving subpoenas and other process documents, executing warrants, interviewing witnesses, testifying in court, and coordinating efforts with other law enforcement agencies. Incumbent will not receive PERA or State Benefits and the contract cannot exceed $59,900 a year. Must meet requirements set forth by the U.S. Marshalls to become Federally Deputized, 3 years work in related field and carry a New Mexico Peace Officer Certification.

Legal Internships
Throughout the year we have various internship positions available in all three of our offices - Cibola County (Grants, NM), Sandoval County (Bernalillo, NM) and Valencia County (Belen, NM).
​An excellent opportunity for law students enrolled in an accredited law school having taken criminal law, criminal procedure and rules of evidence, to gain practical experience in the field of criminal prosecution. Interns will work closely with experienced attorneys and staff, assisting in various aspects of legal prosecution.
